Fran Bennett was my voice coach and teacher. She helped me find my voice. Literally. She was powerful, imposing, articulate and so graceful.
She helped (re)learn everything from how to breathe so I’m breathing correctly, to freeing my body of tension so I can free my voice fully.
Fran laughed with me and bellowed at me, along with everything in-between. She inspired me to find my voice in life and on the page.

This is me and my cousin with our uncle. My Mamaji. Behind us, his home on a hill. This was the central meeting place for all of us cousins. We all grew up here, this home on a hill with a view. I’ll miss it. My Mamaji, the kindest soul, taught every one of us what it truly means to lead a life with love and compassion. He gave so much to the world on so many fronts, but most importantly he filled all of our hearts with unconditional love. Now it’s our turn to carry his legacy forward.
